HANDA ICE

Malaysia

FOUNDER

Ishikawa Dandelion’s founder is Handa Ice, a Chinese-Malaysian permanent resident in Japan. Growing up, Ice experienced a unique multi-racial and multi-cultural environment, learning all of the languages she speaks not from hard study but from daily conversations. As a result, switching languages is as natural as walking to Ice.

As Malaysia is considered one of the only countries in the world with Multicultural Symbiotic Societies deeply ingrained in its long history, generally Malaysians are more open-minded to globalization. This open-mindedness enlightened and inspired Ice, whom with 18 years of Event-Producing experience in her profile, is ambitious to help Japanese locals step into the world with everything she learned growing up in multicultural Malaysia.

Currently operating a Chinese-Malaysian Home-Cooking restaurant in Hakusan-shi, Ice is doing all her best to avoid un-recyclable and un-reuseable materials in reflecting her passionate & respect to mother nature. Meanwhile, she is also a member of Hakusan-shi Female Fire-Brigade and Japan Disaster Prevention Volunteer.

He also enjoy climbing the beautiful mountains, skiing in the winter season, joining volunteering activities, help protecting the nature and also making friends around.

He believes that through the craft events the group fills a hunger that social media can never fill. The meeting and sharing of knowledge and skills with people that activating the making of friends and experiences, can change the outlook of a foreigner who feels alone and unsupported in Ishikawa. Also, he suggests the beach cleaning has a real impact on people more than the beaches (although they do look cleaner) with the consideration that the way society is currently going will lead to poor environments for our children to grow up in.
